Shoreline Arts Festival, Virtual Juried Art Show (June 7-July 31, 2021)—2nd Place, People’s Choice Award

West Coast Gems brought me my first exhibit award: 2nd Place, People’s Choice Award, from the Shoreline Arts Festival, Virtual Juried Art Show that ran in June and July, 2021. In truth, this was the first art show I had entered and I was as nervous as a cat—or maybe as jittery as a warbler. 

There’s more truth to be told underlying that win too. The gallery encouraged contestants to spread the word about voting during a limited 48-hour period, most likely to help them generate a new potential client list. I jumped on their advice and broadcast the opportunity to vote for one of my four works to all my friends and family for whom I had email addresses.

Whether my warbler painting is an artistic gem of value is unclear. But that matters not compared to the worth to me of my supportive friends and family.
