Last Night’s Dream

(Sandhill Cranes)

I dream of cranes in flight
Breaking away
Passing to the West
Separate and alone.

They yearn to gather
To gather together
To gather as one
And celebrate joy.

(Special thanks to Becky and her friend Alice Yuan for their patience in helping me translate the poem to Mandarin.)
