I Am a Mountain Chickadee

The Mountain Chickadee has cousins galore, 
from coast to coast,
from arctic north through Mexico south.

Black-capped,
Boreal,
Chestnut-backed,
Gray-headed,
Mexican.

They conspire to force a closer look. 
Only white eye stripes tell this one apart,
if you care to see them.

No matter the kind,
they cheer my day
with their chickadee-dee song.
