Dusk’s Last Light

(Vermilion Flycatcher)

With a nod to William Blake’s the Tyger:

Flycatcher, flycatcher burning bright,
In dusk’s soft glow of crimson light;
Oh what beauty to behold,
One last glimpse of Nature’s gold.

Moments before sunset, at the San Joaquin Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine, CA, Becky spotted a tiny bird catching the sun’s last rays, which set it brilliantly aglow against the darkening sky. It was a life bird for her—the never-to-be-forgotten Vermilion Flycatcher.
