Bird and Buddha

Meeting toe to toe
the small bird blushed
the Buddha laughed and laughed.

Our friends Cathy and Barry sent along a picture snapped by their neighbor who witnessed this migrating Western Tanager taking a brief respite on the toe of her garden Buddha. There was no question that the image would get the iPad treatment and become one of my favorite paintings and poems of the year.
