Une Étude en Plumes
(Long-billed Curlew)
I simply had to try. Feather by feather, this rendering grew.
Pen in hand I escaped some of the gnawing fear of promised tariffs that would challenge global economic stability—just this week’s loudest clamor against the roiling sounds of threats to the environment, health, education, the rule of law, the dwindling light from atop the hill.
Perhaps there’s meaning in the Curlew’s plaintive, urgent cry.
