Bamboo with Snowy Egret

Did the lens know better? When Becky snapped a shot of a Snowy Egret, the autofocus zeroed in on the bamboo grasses rather than on the beautiful Snowy. That “mistake” inspired this soft painting. It’s a favorite of mine and I used it as the cover art for Bird by Bird, a self-published collection of my paintings and thoughts from 2020.
